The Municipal Library and Community Hub redefines what a contemporary public library can be. Rather than a single large reading room, the project is organised as a series of distinct spatial characters — from the grand, double-height main hall to intimate alcoves for individual study, maker spaces, recording studios, and a children’s discovery centre.
The building’s civic presence is established through a generous covered forecourt — a transitional space between street and interior that functions as a market, event space, and gathering place year-round. The facade is composed of a finely perforated terracotta screen whose pattern is derived from traditional geometric motifs, abstracting local heritage into a contemporary architectural language.
